Our wait list for this litter is FULL! Thank you to all who inquired. Waverly recently came into season, so we anticipate breeding in the next two weeks with a due date in March, and puppies going home in May of 2026.

We are so excited to announce our first planned litter at Aviary Kennels! This litter has been the result of the stars aligning, as well as so much support from the Brittany community.

When researching potential matches for Waverly while discussing breeding plans with our mentor, I came across William, owned by Ann Harris, who is an incredibly accomplished show, sport, and hunting dog. William is an obedience champion (OTCH) a Canadian Grand Champion/GCH and an American Champion/CH. He is also titled in rally (Rally Excellent/RE in both the CKC and AKC) and in the field, and he was the high in trial obedience dog at the Brittany National in 2018. William competed in utility obedience at the Brittany National this year and is still jumping at full height at nearly 11 years old. We love to see proof of that kind of soundness and longevity in our breed!

William has excellent bone and earset, both of which are improvements I was looking for in a match for Waverly. He and Waverly also share one grandsire, so the breeding would be a linebreeding on MBISS GCHB Sunquest Cimmaron Catch the Wind CD BN RAE MH RATO CGCA (Chase), who is one of my favorite dogs in Waverly’s pedigree. It seemed like an excellent match! Unfortunately due to his location in Canada, I was unsure if we would be able to navigate the logistics of the breeding. Then in the summer of 2025, we saw him come across our Facebook feed! He was showing in veterans in Texas, and potentially interested in being used as a stud again, as he’d only had one previous litter. We reached out to the breeder & handler showing him, who put us in touch with Ann, and the rest has fallen into place!

What Ann has to say about William:
He is a wonderful dog, I’ve had many in my lifetime and William is something very special — you will never get a more honest hunter, he is a bird finding machine and to watch him work pheasants is a joy to watch.  He has been a wonderful competitor in obedience.  He finished in America with three specialty 5 point majors including BOW at the summer nationals.  I have brought him out of retirement for the national, he has had a high in trial and a high combined at the national and his photo has been on the front page of the ABC magazine 3 times.  And on top of all that he is the soundest dog out there, nothing bothers him.”

We believe this pairing will produce everything we aspire to here at Aviary Brittanys: moderate, driven, versatile, and level-headed bird dogs that will be as much a pleasure to train and to live with as they are to hunt behind. We hope they carry forward their parents’ natural drive to retrieve, biddability, bird sense, and cooperative natures. Waverly and William are both registered with the American Kennel Club and Canadian Kennel Club, and we are happy to work with Canadian homes! We will facilitate registration with the club you prefer.

This litter is priced at $1600

We are so grateful to everyone who had a hand in making this litter a reality.

GCH Cimmaron’s Traveling Man Jameson

The timing of this litter will depend heavily on how the whelping and raising of our spring litter goes. Waverly’s health and wellbeing is my number one priority, so if she needs more recovery time, this litter will be delayed until spring of 2027. If I believe that a second litter is not in her best interest and decide not to proceed, I will notify waitlist homes as soon as possible and will be happy to refer to other programs that I believe will suit their goals. Fill out our Puppy Application if you’re interested in being placed on the waitlist for future litter plans, but know that we may not proceed with our fall breeding.

Travis was owned and shown by our breeder and mentor Christine Ward-Weber of Cimmaron Brittanys and has resided with her husband since her passing. This is a pairing that we discussed breeding together, as we both felt their pedigrees and temperaments were an excellent match, while Travis will improve on some of the areas of Waverly’s conformation, such as her substance.

I have spent time with Travis both in his home and at shows, and he is a sweet, goofy, loving boy. He was the #9 ranked owner-handled Brittany in the country in 2022 with limited showing and finished his AKC championship with all majors. Travis is a proven producer with one finished CH offspring to his name already, who was Chris’s 100th Cimmaron-bred AKC champion. He was also bred to Waverly’s dam, Stash, in 2022, and produced a litter that Chris was very happy with. Two of those puppies are in the show ring currently, with one almost finished. I expect Waverly and Travis will produce even-tempered, biddable, versatile pups that could excel in many performance venues, or be excellent family companions. Please fill out our Puppy Application if you’re interested in a puppy from this litter.

Travis the lover boy! I will always remember him as the snuggliest boy, trying to climb into Chris’s lap in her wheelchair at any opportunity. Chris adored him and was so excited for his future progeny.
